OVERVIEW:
Life Matters is a weekly, educational right-to-life television program aired in Boston since October 2003. Via public access cable television, Life Matters provides the viewing public with a voice that is almost never heard on mainstream media outlets. The purpose of 'Life Matters' is to show the broad mosaic of the right to life movement and to inform the general public about the truth of many current day controversial and contentious issues such as abortion, the abortion-breast cancer link, adoption, cloning, contraception, eugenics, euthanasia, fertility, embryonic stem cell research and sexually transmitted diseases. We address these issues from many different perspectives including: biological, medical, economic, emotional, psychological, legal, legislative and political viewpoints.
This show, which is produced by the West Roxbury-Roslindale chapter of Massachusetts Citizens For Life, Inc. (MCFL), would not be necessary if the mainstream media informed the public honestly about these issues. The mainstream media chooses either not to discuss these issues or they are afraid to. Whether overtly or covertly, the pro-life voice has been either ignored and/or silenced by the mainstream media. Clearly, the pro-abortionists desire to silence and distort the right to life voice. When the mainstream media does bring up the pro-life viewpoint, they often do so inaccurately with demeaning, accusatorial and pejorative overtones. The result is the public is left largely ignorant about these life and death issues.
Life Matters is televised at the Boston Neighborhood Network studios in the Egleston Square area of Boston. Our viewership is targeted at the general population. The monopoly of information and more accurately ... misinformation that the media elites have enjoyed over the last four decades is slowly eroding due largely to talk radio, cable television and the internet. Life Matters seeks to contribute to that alternative view. With the understanding and acceptance from the local cable access studios (who inherently support alternative views), Life Matters has gained extraordinary traction and respect throughout the public access cable television community.
The show expands by leaps and bounds every month. Our local geographic sponsors are just citizens, young and old, who want to set the record straight. The mainstream media has been mostly unfair about abortion and in a broader sense traditional family values. Cable television is the great equalizer in this debate. Life Matters intends to take advantage of local cable access to get our voice heard.
Life Matters is currently airing in about 85 to 90 cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We are on the cutting edge of an historical momentum and sentiment shift in public opinion favoring the end to abortion and other aforementionned societal afflictions. Please watch our show. You will learn a lot about these issues because Life Matters is unique, informative, content rich, truthful and thought provoking.
